Singapore Joins Celebration of World Ostomy Day 2025

Ostomates, caregiver and healthcare professionals enjoying the celebration of World Ostomy Day sponsored by Ostomy Association of Sigapore.

Singapore proudly joined the global ostomy community in celebrating World Ostomy Day on 4 October 2025, themed “Invisible Disabilities, Visible Support – The Global Unity of Ostomates.”

Held at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, the event brought together ostomates, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and partners for a vibrant morning of learning, laughter, and connection. Joyful performances by children from The Little Skool-House and a heartfelt song by an ostomate set an uplifting tone for the day.

Highlights included moving patient stories, a keynote by A/Prof Surendra Mantoo on “Precision in Practice, Compassion in Care,” and an insightful talk on intimacy and confidence by Dr Martha Tara Lee from Eros Coaching Pte Ltd.

A key milestone was the launch of the Alliance for Colorectal Support and Advocacy (ACSA) and new partnerships with Eagles Mediation & Counselling Centre, Underneath The Moon, and Thrive Social Consulting.

With strong support from stoma nurses, Empowerment Partners Coloplast and Convatec, and industry collaborators, the celebration shone a spotlight on unity, compassion, and community.
