The geographic area comprises 13 countries (11 from Asia and 2 countries from the South Pacific).

The ASPOA is comprised by members of the Executive  Committee. They are ostomates coming from member countries of their  respective Association.

The ASPOA supports the formatipon of Ostomy Associations where needed and will promote awareness about the rights of ostomy patients. Also, it provides a  forum for the exchange of information of the work and experiences of the countries by maintaining a website and by coordinating the convening of periodic Regional Conferences.

During the World Conference, votes were casted by all the representatives to ratify the mandates and resolutions decided upon by the majority.
